Origin Range Requests: Serving large files without range-request tuning

  • Infrastructure & DevOps
  • Write-up

3 judges. Scored by all three judges. Only the day’s top stories get the claim check. How far stories are checked

Cloudflare has rebuilt how its CDN caches HTTP range requests, the partial-file fetches video players and download managers rely on. The old design used per-zone fixed range sizes that could force large, wasteful origin fetches or many tiny ones.

Read the original at blog.cloudflare.com. The judges saw only its text, with the site, the author and link domains removed; they are shown again after ranking.
