Summary
Researchers at Google tested seller agents writing descriptions for ten real Apify data tools on each of Amazon and Instagram, told only to be selected more often. Under all five production models, sellers claimed more fields, including some their tools return for under half of targets. Severity varied tenfold by model. Under one model, buyer task success fell from 89% to about 30% on Amazon and from 77% to 40% on Instagram. The authors urge testing models as sellers before deployment; results come from two shelves.
