Summary
Microsoft has moved DirectX Dump Files from preview to retail with Agility SDK 1.620 and PIX 2610.28. D3D12 games can now capture GPU crash dumps (.dxdmp) on players' PCs, with up to 2 MB of developer data, and open them in PIX without the crashing GPU. Vendor coverage is uneven: NVIDIA (Turing and newer) and AMD (RX 7000/9000) are supported, while Intel and Qualcomm are listed as coming soon. Uploading dumps from players' machines remains the developer's crash pipeline job. Microsoft's stated defaults and requirements were not independently verified.
