OpenTelemetry's Transformation Language (OTTL) reached version 1.0, stable for traces, metrics, and logs starting with Collector Contrib v0.164.0. Its syntax, standard functions, and Go API are now frozen for the 1.x series, so Collector upgrades should no longer break existing filter and transform rules.

Why it ranked

No. 27 of 111 with a score of 0.60. The panel rated it highest on new information (0.91) and practical relevance (0.70), lowest on audience breadth (0.53). Placed No. 27, No. 61 by score alone: the placement terms moved other stories past it.

AI judgeJudge 2claude-haiku-5-5
Stable 1.0 release of a widely used observability transformation language in OpenTelemetry Collector; practical for infra builders, with upgrade-breaking cleanup details and a clear stability policy, though moderate depth and breadth.
AI judgeJudge 3gpt-5.6-luna
A substantive release report for a widely used observability and infrastructure tool, with concrete compatibility guarantees, migration hazards, feature gates, and technical scope. The headline slightly overstates stability by implying all filter-rule breakage is eliminated.

Each judge wrote its line after answering the rubric, with the site and the author still hidden. Every answer behind this is in the table under Score.
