Drama Studio is a native macOS app that runs Fish Audio's Drama 3 text-to-speech model entirely on Apple silicon, with no MLX or PyTorch at runtime. Its 35B mixture-of-experts backbone runs on hand-written Metal kernels that read the released weights directly, and the audio codec runs through Core ML.

Read the original at github.com. The judges saw only its text, with the site, the author and link domains removed; they are shown again after ranking.

Why it ranked

No. 81 of 137 with a score of 0.60. The panel rated it highest on technical depth (0.94) and new information (0.94), lowest on audience breadth (0.39). The judges disagreed most on substantiated (spread 0.44), so the story is marked contested. Placed No. 81, No. 74 by score alone: the 28th AI & machine learning story of the day (−0.080). The placement terms move stories; they are not part of the score.

AI judgeJudge 2claude-haiku-5-5
A detailed release of a local on-device TTS app with custom Metal kernels and an API; technically rich and novel, but niche in audience and mainly a product announcement with a long README body.
AI judgeJudge 3gpt-5.6-luna
A technically detailed local TTS release with Metal/Core ML implementation, reproducible setup, APIs, SDK, verification, benchmarks, and explicit limitations. It is highly actionable for Apple-silicon and AI builders, though scope is platform-specific and partly release-oriented.

Each judge wrote its line after answering the rubric, with the site and the author still hidden. Every answer behind this is in the table under Score.
