Qwenputer is an experimental Qwen3.5-4B model with a 32-bit RISC-V CPU compiled directly into its weights, with no learned parameters in the computer layers. The CPU uses the model's Gated DeltaNet state as RAM and runs C and MicroPython inside forward passes.

Read the original at github.com. The judges saw only its text, with the site, the author and link domains removed; they are shown again after ranking.

Why it ranked

No. 41 of 110 with a score of 0.63. The panel rated it highest on new information (0.95) and technical depth (0.94), lowest on practical relevance (0.51). The judges disagreed most on practical relevance (spread 0.42), so the story is marked contested. Placed No. 41, No. 28 by score alone: the eleventh AI & machine learning story of the day (−0.080). The placement terms move stories; they are not part of the score.

AI judgeJudge 2claude-haiku-5-5
Novel, technically deep work compiling a RISC-V CPU into LLM weights with reproducible benchmarks and models; significance and practical relevance are limited, and claims need independent verification.
AI judgeJudge 3gpt-5.6-luna
A highly technical, reproducible project embeds exact RISC-V computation and filesystem state into transformer weights, with code, models, architecture details, benchmarks, and simulator validation. It is novel and useful, though still experimental and partly self-reported.

Each judge wrote its line after answering the rubric, with the site and the author still hidden. Every answer behind this is in the table under Score.
