3 judges. Scored by all three judges. Only the day’s top stories get the claim check. How far stories are checked

A study of 158,099 generative-search answers across two 90-day collections (consumer home internet and small B2B software) finds that ChatGPT citations depend mainly on the engine's own retrieval step, not on page features.

Read the original at arxiv.org. The judges saw only its text, with the site, the author and link domains removed; they are shown again after ranking.

Why it ranked

No. 81 of 127 with a score of 0.60. The panel rated it highest on substantiated (0.93) and new information (0.92), lowest on significance (0.66). Older work: a freshness penalty of 0.100. Placed No. 81, No. 72 by score alone: the 28th AI & machine learning story of the day (−0.080). The placement terms move stories; they are not part of the score.

Large measurement study of generative search citations with within-website design, API replay and controlled experiments; highly relevant to growth and AI builders, with strong evidence and new findings, though it is an academic paper with limited broad significance.
AI judgeJudge 3gpt-5.6-luna
A large, longitudinal, primary measurement study with released data and code explains how retrieval, model priors, and source ordering drive AI citations. It is highly actionable for AI, search, content, and product teams, with strong evidence and limited overclaiming.

Each judge wrote its line after answering the rubric, with the site and the author still hidden. Every answer behind this is in the table under Score.
