3 judges. Scored by all three judges. Only the day’s top stories get the claim check. How far stories are checked

VibeSys, a multi-agent system for generating bespoke inference engines, was used to build serving engines for two hybrid Qwen3.8 models on AWS Trainium2, where no open-source system supports them. On one chip, agents wrote a Qwen3.8-27B engine from a plain PyTorch reference, raising throughput from 195 to 861 tok/s.

Why it ranked

No. 70 of 109 with a score of 0.60. The panel rated it highest on new information (0.92) and technical depth (0.91), lowest on audience breadth (0.44). The judges disagreed most on significance (spread 0.43), so the story is marked contested. Placed No. 70, No. 64 by score alone: the 23rd AI & machine learning story of the day (−0.080). The placement terms move stories; they are not part of the score.

AI judgeJudge 2claude-haiku-5-5
Detailed, evidence-backed engineering work on serving LLMs on Trainium2 with agent-built engines; niche hardware audience, reproducible results, mild promotional tone from the VibeSys authors.
AI judgeJudge 3gpt-5.6-luna
Detailed primary research with reproducible performance measurements, implementation specifics, profiling evidence, and released artifacts. It is highly relevant to AI inference and accelerator engineering, though Trainium-specific scope limits breadth.

Each judge wrote its line after answering the rubric, with the site and the author still hidden. Every answer behind this is in the table under Score.
